How Would You Know If You are Suffering from Frozen Shoulder?

In the midst of a busy day, you suddenly feel immense pain on your shoulder and found it hard to move the part. You may be stricken with frozen shoulder. This medical condition is also known as adhesive capsulitis. This happens when the capsule that can be found on the joint of your shoulder becomes thick and short. The situation happens more on women than on men. Even though a term was already coined for such state, the roots of the problem are still unknown.

How would you know that you already have such condition? You will be able to gauge on your own if what you have is simply a shoulder pain or a frozen shoulder. With the first, you are still capable of doing certain tasks and the pain will go away after some massages or when you take pain reliever medicines. But when you have a frozen shoulder, the movement using your shoulder becomes restricted. Your arms won’t be able to execute their usual motions.

There are three stages that occur when you have the symptoms of a frozen shoulder. These are the following.

1. Freezing of your shoulder. The pain starts to become prominent as you lose the capacity to move the part.

2. Frozen shoulder. The pain that you feel alleviates. But your shoulder still feels immobile and your movement is still restricted.

3. Thawing. You can now start to move your shoulder a step at a time. And all pain will cease to exist as you perform certain exercises to improve the condition.
